We have a need in the Gallatin area for an elderly woman and her husband who is blind. She needs some help with a few things around the house that she is just not able to take care of. They are 7th Day Adventists and Saturdays are their Sabbath day, so we need a few folks who could help them out on any other day.
Below is the list of items she needs help with.

1) Paint the railings and wood areas on the front porch area, also wood areas on the door frame on the back porch
2) Check gutters and clean, if needed
3) Yard work – trim bushes (this might be better done in the spring, but is not urgent).

Spreading the love of Christ

Here are more homes in the Hendersonville area that I have visited this year, and some needs they have.

TERRACE AT BLUEGRASS (674 East Main St., Henderonville, Tn, 824-4552)

This is a retirement home for the elderly and Alzheimer patients. They have a need for volunteers to come at anytime (with prior arrangments) to paint nails, call bingo, sing songs, take walks, do crafts, play games, talk and visit. You can call at the number above and set up a time that you are available to go and minister here, they are very flexible with your schedule and are willing to make arrangements and plans with you!

My daughter and I have gone and painted nails in the downstairs floor where the Alzheimer patients reside. What a blessed experience! They are so sweet and so thankful for the contact of loving visitors!!

PARK PLACE (31 Executive Park Dr., Hendersonville, Tn., 822-6002)

This is a very nice retirement home for assisted and independent living for seniors. They also have many opportunities and needs for volunteers to paint nails, play games, call bingo, go shopping, and visit. They are more organized in their scheduling and have a monthly calendar that you can look at to see where you are available to volunteer. They are very protective here, so anyone who wishes to volunteer must first fill out paperwork for a background check first. It only takes about a week and then you are cleared to safely volunteer! They have so many sweet folks who simply love to have visitors of all ages come and love on them!

Can You Spare An Hour?

Wednesdays from 1:30 – 2:30pm, volunteers are needed to go to Pennington Place assisted living to paint nails. This facility is off of Walton Ferry Road. Last week they had 18 ladies that wanted their nails painted and only 2 volunteers. This is a beautiful opportunity to literally touch some ladies that don’t have an opportunity to be loved on.

They also need some dolls with clothes, coloring books, picture books and playdough to minister to these special seniors.
